We produce Estate Kona Coffee. It is coffee grown in our orchards. We never supplement with beans from other farms. In this way, we provide you with a distinct Estate coffee that has a unique flavor profile determined by the soil and climate of our location and our horticultural care. We hand pick ripe fruit and process by traditional wet fermen-tation to remove the beans, which are then sun dried. They are hulled and sorted into grades based on shape, size and density:
Peaberry – 2 to 5% of the crop is produced as one round bean in a fruit rather than the usual two flat-sided beans in a fruit. These beans make a distinct more sophisticated coffee that is full flavored, but more complex with a precise, light, clean acidity.
Extra Fancy – Our largest and most dense beans meeting the Kona Coffee standard of Extra Fancy are the product of the most vigorous growth. The ripeness and density of Extra Fancy beans makes coffee with the fullest and richest flavors.
Fancy – Kona grade Fancy beans are at the second level of size and density, and provide all the flavor and richness expected from Kona Coffee.
Estate – These large beans represent the bulk of our crop and make coffee with the great aroma and flavor for which Kona Coffee is known.
Makauli`i – Our smaller beans provide an exceptional value in the flavor and taste of pure 100% Kona Coffee.
Green Fancy – Taste Kona Coffee at its freshest. Roast these beans in popcorn popper, skillet or home roaster.
