November 2008 - Sea View Estate honored in Kona Coffee Cupping Competition

We are pleased to report that the coffee from our new second farm, the Sea View Estate, was recognized as one of the best Kona coffees produced in 2008 from the hundreds of small farms here in Kona! Our Sea View Estate was a finalist in the 2008 Gevalia Kona Cupping Competition and was awarded Honorable Mention! We are pleased to add this ribbon to our collection of ribbons that confirm we are achieving our goal of producing one of the finest Kona coffees available.

Our new orchard is located on 5,000 year old lava flows, 1000 feet above the Pacific Ocean, and just a few miles south of our original Aikane Kona Coffee Estate. The coffee from our Sea View Estate has a more creamy acidity and softer flavor components compared to cleaner, brighter acidity of higher elevation Kona coffee. Coffees from both estates are spectacularly smooth and rich.

Aikane Kona Coffee takes 2nd Prize in 2001 and 3rd Prize in the 2005 Kona Coffee Cupping Competitions!
